THANKSGIVING GRAVY RECIPE WITHOUT DRIPPINGS

This flavorful homemade gravy is perfect for Thanksgiving, made without drippings, and easily customizable for your favorite sides.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or Avocado Oil)
  • 1 small Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour (or All-Purpose)
  • 4 cups Broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1-1.5 tsp Fresh Thyme (or dried)
  • 1-1.5 tsp Fresh Sage (or dried)
  • 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • to taste Salt & Black Pepper Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • Splash Milk or Unsweetened Plant Milk Splash of Milk or Unsweetened Plant Milk

Instructions 

  • Warm olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook chopped onions 3-4 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  • Stir in flour and cook 1-2 minutes until lightly golden. Gradually whisk in broth, smoothing lumps.
  • Add Worcestershire, mustard, thyme, sage, and paprika. Simmer 8-10 minutes until thickened, adding extra broth or milk if needed.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Strain or blend for smooth gravy. Serve over your favorite Thanksgiving dishes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a small knob of butter or drizzle of olive oil at the end.
