A quick and nutritious make-ahead breakfast featuring protein-packed oats soaked overnight for convenience and flavor.

Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 2/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 serving protein powder (chocolate or vanilla)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Liquid ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, coconut, cashew, or dairy milk)
  • 1/2 cup water (see note below about thickness and liquid amount)
  • pinch salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons pure maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon (or orange) zest (grate the rind of a lemon or orange)

Instructions 

  • Add all dry ingredients to a jar or bowl: oats, chia seeds, protein powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg.
  • Add milk, water, and optional liquids like maple syrup, vanilla, and zest. Stir until well combined.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to thicken.
  • Before eating, add toppings if desired. Serve cold or warm.

Notes

Adjust liquid for desired consistency and toppings for variety.
